         <description><![CDATA[Saints Alive! offers a full range of services for the repair and restoration of your religious statuary, sculpture or Stations of the Cross.<br><br>

<h7>Carved Wood</h7><br>
<ul>
<li>Refinishing of stained and/or varnished surfaces</li>
<li>Re-sealing to prevent moisture or weather damage</li>
<li>Repairing of cracks and chips</li>
<li>Rebuilding and replacement of missing parts</li>
<li>Repainting of previously colored surfaces</li>
<li>Re-lamination/ attachment of broken arms, hands, etc.</li>

<h7>Cast Plaster (“chalk”)</h7><br>

<ul>
<li>Mild cleaning to remove surface dirt, grime or staining</li>
<li>Application of new, protective, clear topcoat (“glazing”)to provide and luster and sheen</li>
<li>Spot repairs to minor flaws or chips, with color matching
to existing paint</li>
<li>General “brightening” for statues whose color has faded (This involves adding more contrast to folds in painted fabric and more “life” to faded areas.)</li>
<li>Repair, reconstruction and replacement of broken, damaged or missing parts, however minor or severe.</li></ul>

<h7>Exterior Marble</h7><br>
<ul>
<li>Removal of and protection from organic stains (mold, mildew)</li>
<li>Removal of environmental staining (carbon monoxide)</li>
<li>*Rebuilding and replacement of missing fingers, hands, toes, etc.</li>
<li>*Filling of cracks and chips caused by spauling or freeze damage</li>
<li>*Resurfacing/ manually polishing to a smoother finish</li>

         <description><![CDATA[Saints Alive! is a Brooklyn, New York based studio specializing in the repair and restoration of religious statuary. All Saints Alive! artists are professionally trained and possess Masters of Fine Arts Degrees.<br><br>

<h7>George Ferrandi</h7> hails from a family of Church Restoration contractors in Baltimore, MD. She studied sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University, earned her Graduate Degree from Ohio State University and was an Asst. Professor of Sculpture at the University of Florida for 4 years before moving to New York. She has also taught at the Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina and at Enquentros Cultural Center in Lima, Peru. Her specialties at SA! are wood and plaster repairs, color matching, and airbrush work. (link to Catholic Review Article)<br><br>

<h7>Leslie Harding</h7> is an Atlanta native who attended Atlanta College of Art and Design. She moved to New York in 1998 and earned her Masters Degree from the School of Visual Arts. Her specialties are substrate preparation, brush painting, surface refinishing and photo-realistic drawing.<br><br>

<h7>Jesse James Arnold</h7> is Saints Alive!’s web designer, administrator and professional art handler. He is originally from St. Augustine, FL, earned his BFA at the University of Florida and his MFA from UC San Diego. He has taught courses in robotic sculpture at Yale University and at Pratt Institute.<br><br>

<h7>Miguel Luciano</h7> is originally from Seattle, WA. He studied at the New School in Miami and earned his MFA from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He teaches art at Cooper Union in Manhattan and at El Puente Institute for Peace and Justice in Brooklyn. His specialty at SA! is airbrush painting and color consultation.<br><br>

<h7>Dave Herman</h7> is the founder of the City Reliquary, just across the street from Saints Alive! in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At SA!, he works as a professional art handler and art handling consultant, as well as an exterior marble restoration assistant. His BFA is from the University of Florida and his MFA is from the School of Visual Arts.<br><br>

<h7>David McQueen</h7> is originally from Jacksonville Florida. He has undergraduate degrees from Oberlin College and from the University of Florida. His Graduate Degree is in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. He acts as a design consultant and troubleshooter for SA! He is also El Santito’s personal trainer.<br><br>
