A family in Baltimore had us restore it as a memorial to their young son, Salvatore. They had a small ceramic portrait of him put in the center area (where the VI was originally.) The statue is made of small sections of cast metal which were then welded together. (You can detect weld seams under the chin and down the throat, as well as on the underside of the sleeves.)
