This plaster sconce was originally used to hold a large bas-relief Station of the Cross. A family in Baltimore had us restore it as a memorial to their young son, Salvatore. They had a small ceramic portrait of him put in the center area (where the VI was originally.) It is a beautiful and loving tribute.
