
Saints Alive! is a Brooklyn, New York based studio specializing in the repair and restoration of religious statuary. All Saints Alive! artists are professionally trained and possess Masters of Fine Arts Degrees.
We have over eighteen years of experience in the field of Church-related restoration and extend from a family of church contractors and religious service specialists. The following is a partial list of churches we are proud to have served:
George Ferrandi hails from a family of Church Restoration contractors in Baltimore, MD. She studied sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University, earned her Graduate Degree from Ohio State University and was an Asst. Professor of Sculpture at the University of Florida for 4 years before moving to New York. She has also taught at the Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina and at Enquentros Cultural Center in Lima, Peru. Her specialties at SA! are wood and plaster repairs, color matching, and airbrush work. (link to Catholic Review Article)
Leslie Harding is an Atlanta native who attended Atlanta College of Art and Design. She moved to New York in 1998 and earned her Masters Degree from the School of Visual Arts. Her specialties are substrate preparation, brush painting, surface refinishing and photo-realistic drawing.
Jesse James Arnold is Saints Alive!’s web designer, administrator and professional art handler. He is originally from St. Augustine, FL, earned his BFA at the University of Florida and his MFA from UC San Diego. He has taught courses in robotic sculpture at Yale University and at Pratt Institute.
Miguel Luciano is originally from Seattle, WA. He studied at the New School in Miami and earned his MFA from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He teaches art at Cooper Union in Manhattan and at El Puente Institute for Peace and Justice in Brooklyn. His specialty at SA! is airbrush painting and color consultation.
Dave Herman is the founder of the City Reliquary, just across the street from Saints Alive! in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At SA!, he works as a professional art handler and art handling consultant, as well as an exterior marble restoration assistant. His BFA is from the University of Florida and his MFA is from the School of Visual Arts.
David McQueen is originally from Jacksonville Florida. He has undergraduate degrees from Oberlin College and from the University of Florida. His Graduate Degree is in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. He acts as a design consultant and troubleshooter for SA! He is also El Santito’s personal trainer.
